At Clínica Dental el Puerto our main objective is ‘making smiles better’, by encouraging and helping you to maintain a healthy mouth & smile for life.
At your initial check-up, we will thoroughly examine your teeth, gums & soft tissues of your mouth to fully assess your dental health. We will also take into account any previous or current health problems to enable us to offer you the best advice possible.
We will carefully listen to any concerns or requirements you may have and explain treatment recommendations & options accordingly, providing you with a fully-detailed estimate for your consideration.
We can show you problems inside your mouth with our intra-oral cameras and explain treatment techiques with computerised visual aids, to ensure that you fully understand all of the treatment options which are available before you make a decision. You can then listen to relaxing music or watch a movie while having your treatment.
And finally, we can help you achieve the healthy smile you have always wanted.

Gum disease is the general term used to describe inflammation of the tissues which support the teeth, caused by sticky plaque which forms every day. If it is not removed completely by thorough brushing and interdental cleaning it will harden and form hard deposits of tartar, which cannot be removed by brushing and in the more advanced stages will cause the loss of these teeth.
Our experienced hygienist, Karen Pimlott, can help prevent this and other forms of gum disease by careful, gentle removal of the build-up of tartar on the teeth. She will then tailor an individual hygiene programme for you, to help maintain optimum gum health and prevent bad breath which is often associated with gum disease.
Gum Disease remains the main cause of tooth loss and has been more recently linked to other diseases in the body, such as heart disease, diabetes, strokes and arthritis. For more information visit the British Dental Health Foundation on the following links:

A whiter smile can make an immense difference in your overall appearance and is an easy & fantastic way to boost your confidence & improve your self-esteem.
There are many professional whitening treatments available, which are carried out by two main methods.

Just because you have lost some or all of your teeth doesn’t mean you have to have an artificial-looking smile.
At our clinic, we will carefully choose the colour, size & shape of the teeth for your new dentures to help you achieve a completely natural-looking smile.
If you haven’t lost all of your teeth, you may even be suitable for bridgework or implants which could remove the need for dentures all together. Even if this is not an option, you could be suitable for precision-retained dentures which give better retention & can remove the need for unsightly denture clasps, or implant-retained alternatives. Or why not call our reception staff to arrange your appointment to discuss which options could be suitable for you, and smile with confidence!
At our clinic we endeavour to make our younger patients' visits as enjoyable as possible. Our main aim is not only to provide the dental treatment which is necessary, but to make your child’s dental experiences relaxed & positive, “happy little patients grow into confident adult patients”.
Treatment is always carried out gently with complimentary movies during treatment & incentive gifts for good behaviour, however, prevention is always better than cure.
We always recommend that you start bringing your children to visit us as soon as possible. Visiting the clinic regularly from an early age allows them to get use to the surroundings and allows us to develope a realtionship with your child as well as detect at an early stage any developing dental problems.

At our clinic we believe that certain aspects of dental care should be provided by Specialists who have dedicated their professional career to their particular field of Dentistry. To provide our patients with the highest level of treatment possible, we work in close conjunction with renowned specialists in the following fields of dentistry:
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root replacement and is used in prosthetic dentistry to support restorations that resemble a tooth or group of teeth, such as crowns, bridges or dentures. We work in close collaboration with an emminent implantologist who will assess suitability & surgically place the implant(s).
Referral to an Oral Surgeon is occasionally necessary for more complex extractions or surgical procedures.
Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that is concerned with the treatment of malocclusions (improper bites), which may be a result of tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships, or both.
Neural therapy is a holistic therapy of the autonomic nervous system whose final outcome is to encourage the mechanisms of self-healing within the body to allow it to re-organise and auto-regulate itself.
Neurofocal dentistry takes into account the relation of the teeth with the nervous system and the other organs of the body.
The body can become ill due to processes which occur in the mouth and by the same means many illnesses can be cured or prevented from the mouth.
Scars, un-erupted teeth, diseases of the gums and supporting tissues, trauma and cysts etc. can cause disorders in the body.
If you are interested in finding out more about Neural therapy and how it could help you, why not arrange a consultation appointment with Dr. Sonia Cordoba, or call into the clinic to pick up an informative leaflet.
Neuro-Occlusal Rehabilitation is based on the concept of masticatory occlusal balance. During chewing movements, the mouth has to function alternatively on one side and then the other without thinking about it. The chewing forces must be spread amongst all of the teeth, creating perfect harmony between the occlusal balance and the chewing muscles and the tempromandibular joints...
The lack of chewing function, due to our softer diets, the use of baby feeding bottles and ineffficient nose-breathing, disrupts this balance.
The object of neuro-occlusal rehabilitation is to investigate the causes of this imbalance and eliminate, rehabilitate or reverse these problems, and to do so, as early as possible.
If you are interested in finding out more about Neuro-Occlusal Rehabilitation and how it could help you, why not arrange a consultation appointment with Dr. Sonia Cordoba, or call into the clinic to pick up an informative leaflet.
