Dr Chris Conner joined the team in June 2015 as Clinical Director & Principal.
Dr Conner qualified from Liverpool University in 1997. He did his initial training in Portsmouth, Hampshire where he gained experience in a multitude of disciplines. Following this, Chris worked as an associate dentist in Southampton where he added to experience including cosmetic dentistry, smile design & facial aesthetics. During this time he continued to build upon his skills with courses in Periodontal (gum treatment), Endodontics (root canal treatment & Advanced Conservation(crowns, veneers & bridges). In 2002, he bought a large practice in Southampton & as Co-Principal he helped build a first-rate team & turn the clinic in to a busy & highly regarded practice over the intervening 12 years.
Chris moved to Javea in 2015 & took over Clinica Dental el Puerto from the previous Principal, Dr Karen Marshall, who continues to work at the clinic. Chris is keen to utilise Karen's skills & experience to continue to shape the practice in the future.
Chris has continued to develop & expand patient services at the practice. He continues to develop the popular implant services at the practice with Dr Solis, our Consultant Maxillo-Facial Surgeon.
He is also now offering dental holidays as it has been increasingly apparent that more people to wish to travel to access high quality dental services at reasonable prices. In the coming months he is also going to introduce dental plans for all the family, zero percent finance for large treatment courses & access to facial aesthetic treatment eg fillers & anti-wrinkle treatment.
Chris is always keen to expand patient options at the practice & as such would welcome any feedback to improve patient services.
After qualifying from Glasgow University in 1987, Karen worked in general practice in Scotland for several years before being offered a position in Australia as Head of the Dental Department in Griffith Base Hospital.
Here she gained a wealth of experience in managing a busy Dental Department, as well as co-ordinating & treating patients in outlying clinics.
Shortly after arriving in Javea in 1993, Karen established Clínica Dental el Puerto and, due to patient demand, was soon recruiting other experienced dentalprofessionals to join the dental team.
She enjoys all aspects of general family dentistry but particularly cosmetic dentistry, and takes her greatest professional satisfaction from seeing, initially nervous patients who were unhappy with their smiles, beaming confidently when treatment is finished.
Dr Ignacio Solis Garcia leads the Maxillo-Facial Surgery team at the private 9th of October Hospital in Valencia & the Rey don Jaime Hospital in Castellón, offering his experience & specialisation.
He graduated in Medicine & Surgery at the University of Navarra (Pamplona). Later, he specialised in Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgery after completing his training via MIR at the University Hospital of Valencia. At the same time, he trained at various centres of excellence such as Dr. Cavadas in Valencia & the Teknon Medical Centre in Barcelona, amongst others.
He is currently a member of the Spanish Society of Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgery (SECOM), The Valencian Society of Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgery (SVMCOM) & the European Association for Cranio- Maxillo-Facial Surgery (EACMFS).
Dr Solis is a key member of our implant team who works together with our Restorative Clinicians in order to provide our patients with the exceptional results they have become to expect. In addition to placing implants for the clinic he is able to perform sinus lifts, biopsies, surgical extractions & apicectomies. He is our direct point of contact for access to hospital services should they be deemed necessary & is a pivotal member of our Oral Surgery & Medicine team.
Sonia qualified as a dentist in 1999 from Valencia University Dental School. She started her career as a Dentist at a private practice in Mallorca. 3 years later, she decided to expand her development by relocating to Bristol, UK.
There she gained extensive knowledge and experience, in dentistry & the English language, in a busy practice before returning to her native Spain where she happily joined Clínica Dental el Puerto’s enthusiastic, professional team in 2005.
Sonia has actively pursued further skills and knowledge of modern dental techniques and has successfully completed advanced degree courses in Applied Kinesiology, Neural Therapy & Neurofocal Dentistry and Neuro-occlusal Rehabilitation.
Dr Sonia Cordoba’s Neural Therapy dental appointments are available at Clinica Dental el Puerto by prior arrangement.
Karen Pimlott qualified as a Dental Hygienist, in Manchester in 1979, and went on to work as a Tutor Hygienist. She has also worked in specialist dental practices, alongside periodontists & implantologists, and caring for patients with special needs.
In 1999, Karen graduated as a Dental Therapist and worked in a dental practice specialising in children’s dentistry & nervous adult patients.
Since joining Clínica Dental el Puerto in 2006, she has established her reputation as a caring, gentle Hygienist and is an integral part of our dental team, enthusiastically promoting better oral health to all of her patients.
Our dental support staff, Inma, Kim, Raquel & Amanda, are here to help make your visit to our clinic as enjoyable and relaxing an experience as possible.
Our Dental Receptionist: Bibiana is multi-lingual. She speaks Spanish, English, Flemish, German & French. Our receptionist & our auxillary staff always endeavour to provide you with a very warm welcome to the practice & are happy to answer any queries that you may have.
